The House of the Spirits is a classic latin novel by Chilean writer Isabel Allende. I love latin literature, specially those that fall inside the magical realism genre. In Allende's masterpiece we follow four generations of the Trueba family and their daily interaction with ghosts, clairvoyants and all sorts of magical creatures.
Rosa, The Beautiful, is the eldest sister. She is described as the most beautiful creature on the earth, carrying "the beauty of the deep sea" with her transparent pale skin, green hair and yellow eyes.
